I have recently graduated with a B. Comm(Hons.) and would like you to know that you have helped me achieve my goal. The first time I took Stats 2 I received an F, the second time I took it with your materials and a lot of hard work I got my first A+ ever on my transcript. You really are doing an excellent service to the students of the U of M. I am happy to hear you are expanding as I know many students will be excited to hear about tutoring in accounting and finance! Thank-you and good luck in the future.

I recently completed Econ 3170, Quantitative Methods in Economics, which is basically a third year analog to Stats 2, except slightly more in-depth, complicated and difficult. It is also the prerequisite to Econ 3180, Econometrics, which I plan to take. I received a final grade of A in this course and it was not curved.
Without what I had learned about statistics from your seminars and tutoring sessions, I do not think this would have been possible. From my experience, a high grade in stats cannot be achieved by just learning the theories, it takes a lot of practice too. I do however believe that earning final grades of A in Econ 3170 and in Stat 2000 would not have been possible by just doing the problems, attending lectures, and reading the textbooks. You facilitated the learning process and made it possible for me to achieve high grades in these two stats courses.
You helped tremendously in my understanding of statistics, and I am still applying what I learned from you in other courses. It is for these reasons that I would recommend your services to anyone struggling with stats, and to anyone who wants a better, clearer understanding of stats.
I just wanted to thank you again for what you taught me in your Stats 2 weekly tutoring sessions and the exam seminars. They were well worth the time and money, and I can write a testimonial on your website if you would like. I hope you enjoyed your holidays, you definitely earned them!

As a first year student, my "week at a glance" on Aurora Student was booked solid. When I went to my first Linear Algebra class I knew that there would be trouble when I couldn't understand my professor, let alone the way he taught. When I tried my hardest to understand, he only showed us radical methods of doing simple things, but never explained what he was doing. The lab T.A. was better, but she assumed that you understood everything in class and could easily answer any question from any mid-term or final exam. I was in big trouble in that class had to drop it, and I needed it to get into my faculty. As a fighter, I decided to take it again the next semester and, of course, the only slot available was with the same bloody professor. I didn't have time to waste going over the material 5 or 6 times in the textbook or going to another tutor that didn't have any credibility (I will not mention any company names) and for minimum 4-5 times a week as my schedule was even more hectic this term. A couple of close friends told me about Grant's and how they aced courses after taking his seminars. I immediately signed up for his Linear Algebra seminar when he told me the sessions were once a week, for 3 hours every Tuesday after school which fit beautifully into my schedule. His home is near the University, it's inviting and there is a leather sectional which clearly doesn't hurt as much as Armes building seats (read: plywood benches)! When I went to his first class I immediately knew I would ace the course.
I expected to learn about the course, write the exam, and move on but Grant taught me more than just formulas and methods for completing problems. He explained various situations where the math could be applied (I've found that I'm not a calculator that just crunches numbers from formulas professors hand to me but I learn better when I know why I'm doing the math, what purpose it serves and how I can use it to my benefit when I will go into my faculty and even fundamental problems that one could use as dinner conversation!) he also made the sessions enjoyable by cracking a few jokes here and there (something my professor couldn't even dream of if he was handed a joke on a piece of paper), and even explained how other subjects in first year could benefit from the math I was learning. Basically when I signed up for his course, he touched base on all of the other courses in my schedule at the same time which paid off when the time came to study for mid-terms and finals. I would've saved money going to him the first time I took the course so I'm saving you from making the same mistake by telling you to go sign up for his seminar(s)! I'm definitely going back for at least 4 more courses even though I don't need to. I'm just curious to see how those classes are supposed to be taught.

I just wanted to say how much your study books and the exam prep seminars helped me with Linear Algebra.
I have never been very strong in math, and your books really helped me, and I believe they were the main factor in me getting an A in the course.
Thank you again so much and happy holidays! More schools need people like you who care about students doing well.

I was at the Calc 1500 seminar today and I just wanted to say thankyou so much for everything! At the start of the year I was thinking about
dropping the course because it was just too hard and no one could help me make sense of anything! When a friend told me "you have to get Grant's"
I never thought it would be so easy! I have been recomending your book to all my friends since then! You made every lesson seem so simple,
and if it wasn't for your seminars and your book, I would have had to drop this class!!
I am feeling really confident for the final, and I have never felt good about a math exam...EVER!
I keep hoping one day there will be a Grant's book for all courses, but thats probably asking too much!!
You taught the course, in one day, better than any one I could imagine! I can not thankyou enough!!

I'm a basic stats I student and was struggling immensely. I was unable to learn anything in class, and as the first half of the term went on,
I became increasingly further behind and stressed (because I need stats, like most people, for a degree requirement). With two weeks to the midterm,
I heard about you, purchased your book, and attended the 12-hour exam prep seminar. It was tremendously helpful. I worked my ass off on the sample
examinations in cheng's (or something like that) book, and managed a 30/35 on the midterm! Probably the best math mark I've ever received.
Now in the second half of the term, I've been more on the ball. I purchased your book right off the hop, and have been breezing my way through the
homework assignments and am feeling much better about it all. I know that I still have a lot of work to do, but am feeling more confident about
tackling the content of the course.
Your books are laid out in such a logical way, explaining the concepts, and then providing questions that illustrate all the ways/angles in which
a particular concept can be fleshed out in a question. The pragmatic, to-the-point, hints on how to find out exactly what a prof is asking in
their long, drawn-out questions are also tres helpful.

I took STATS 1000 this year and came to both of your extended study days.. thanks to you I received an A in the course and achieved my
Science and Math requirement for my degree! I cannot thank you enough!!!
Darren McGill, 2 Jul 2008
I would like to thank you for all of your help over the years. Truly I could not have passed those courses without your study books and seminars and
for this I will always be thankful, you have made a great difference in my life. Over the years I have purchased all of your books and taken
all of the seminars for which you offer. I am now studying in the Faculty of Management.
Alison Rempel, 24 Jun 2008
My journey through the world of STATS has come to an end. Thank you for all your help! I ended up with an A and I am positive that is only
because of your seminars. Thank you thank you thank you!

Wow! I just want to say that your books and seminars are awesome! I got an
A in DE Stats 1000 (where the exam is worth 70%, so no easy feat, that's
for sure!) and I can't thank you enough.

I just got back my midterm mark and I have to thank Grant for helping me
get a 95%. For those of you who have not been to a tutoring seminar, Grant
is great at giving tips to improve your approach to questions. This is the
third seminar I took with Grant (I took his Calc II midterm and final
seminar previously) and I believe that the study session has improved my
mark in all cases. And for those of you who are unsure of going to someone
for help, Grant's session is also an inexpensive way to force yourself to
do 10 hours of studying in a single night. That alone is a good reason to
go. Thanks a lot Grant. I can't wait until the final seminar.
Chester, 25 Apr 2007
Just an
update: Got my final mark back and I passed with an A+. Unfortunately it
is the last class I can take your seminar in, but I enjoyed your Calc I,
II, and Linear Algebra seminars immensely and they were of great help to
me. It really gave me a solid foundation to build on. Thanks again for
your effort. I know you get paid to do it but you do go the extra mile for
the student. I don't think people truly understand that you will spend
time on the phone, or time on the message board to make sure that you can
help, and it really shows in the quality of your work. Grants Tutoring is
a good name and your effort shows that you care about your companies
reputation. Thank you.

Dear Grant, I want to thank you personally for how wonderful your books
and seminars have been for clarifying and understanding topics in several
subject areas. I have used your services for Linear Algebra, Calc for
Management, Stats 1, and Stats 2, and could not imagine these courses
without help from your tutoring. I went into my Stats 2 exam this morning
with complete confidence and the exam was easier than I had expected
thanks to what I had learned from your book. At this point I am finished
needing to use your services but will always recommend your services to
anyone I come across while continuing my education. Thank-you so very much
for everything and I wish you luck as you continue into the future.
Sincerely, Paul Dick

For anybody who is unsure of what help Grant can provide, please read
this. I have been at the UofM a long time, so I know what works and what
doesn't. In my first year, I took calculus 1, and failed it. From then on,
I studied Grant's guides and went to his seminars for Stats 1 and 2,
Linear Algebra, and Calculus 2 and I have gotten only A's and A+'s in
math. This stuff works! Here's why it works: Profs want to make it sound
like everything in a text book will be on an exam. It is nearly impossible
to study and remember every part of a text. When it comes to the test,
only certain things are tested. Half of what a prof rambles on about in a
lecture, you won't even need to know. Grant will get to the point and
teach you only the things you need to know, without all the confusing
clutter. Secondly, text books (particularly math books), are written
extremely poorly. I've probably read 50 or more text books, and the
calculus text is the worst text I've ever seen. Grant goes through a
variety of problems, step-by-step, and provides solutions to previous
exams. Text books on the other hand will give you a couple sample
problems. Then you have to do a bunch of practice problems on your own,
which have no solutions, so you don't know the correct way to do it.
Lastly, Grant explains everything in an easy-to-understand format. Anybody
can understand the concepts the way Grant explains them. I sound like an
advertisement here, but I'm telling you this because I've been frustrated
in courses before, when all I needed was somebody to explain it to me in
simple terms. Grant has helped me tremendously, and he can for you too.

I'd like to chime in quickly and give my own testimonial to Grant and his
study packages. I took Algebra, Calculus, and Stats 2 with Grant and after
a few years of school and paying for other types of prep courses, I can
honestly say that Grant has been the best bang for my buck in tutoring.
What made his weekly sessions so great was that you basically get spoon
fed the course and are able to digest the concepts slowly throughout the
term. Granted, some people only attend seminars, but I really liked being
able to learn slowly, and then use the seminars as review, and to pick up
some details I may have missed the first time around. The best testimonial
I can give though was with Stats 2. (Even though he saved my butt in Calc
and Algebra as well). I hadn't taken Stats 1 in about 5 years (and at Red
River no less) before I took Stats 2 at the UofM last year. In short, all
the knowledge I needed from Stats 1 wasn't there. Needless to say I was
lost even though I was attending Grant's weekly sessions. I mean, I
couldn't remember any of this stuff, and was in over my head. With
diligent practice using Grant's book though, I slowly came around and
knocked off a decent mark in the course. I guess my point is this: Grant
took a guy who didn't know anything about Stats 1, and got him through
Stats 2. No small feat in my opinion. I'm now finished with Grant's (I'm
not forced to take any more math courses) but his methods are top notch.
Using Grant, and some hard work, I truly believe anyone can pass the
courses he offers tutoring in.

Thank you so much, Grant! I finished with a B+ in stats 1000! I couldn't
believe it when I was checking my marks, I had to double check just in
case I was seeing things. Unbelievable services...I can't tell you how
much I appreciate your help. I've had a tutor in every math course since
grade 8, so all I did was follow your book like a bible, attend the
seminars, and I did better than I ever expected. Thanks again!

What do you get when you cross a 50 something nursing student with a basic
stats course- disaster of course unless that student has attended Grant's
Tutoring courses and seminars. Just got my final mark today and thanks to
you Grant I will be graduating with my nursing degree in 2006!!! Couldn't
have done it without you, as Ferris' cohorts would say " you are a
righteous dude"!!!!! Thanks again, from S

Grant today i took the lin alg final, and to me it seemed very easy,
hopefully pullin off an A probably because i attended ur seminar and
studied all your examples and explanations. the midterm, i didn't do good
at all. not attending ur seminar and i needed a way to boost my mark. i
wanna say thank you for ur hard work to help us, and i appreciate ur time
to answer our questions on here [the message board]! Thanx see you next
term for stats 2!

I took
your weekly seminar for calc last year and got an A in the course! Thank
you so much for that!!

I just wanted to say thank you for the great tutoring, Grant!! If anyone
is unsure about attending a seminar or getting the books, I ensure you it
works! No exaggeration, I never studied or did the homework for 136.130
[Math 1300] and seriously feared the midterm. But I attended the seminar
(a Friday night), did a fraction of the practice questions over the
weekend and pulled an A on the midterm (Monday night). Just think of what
I would have received if I studied regularly or did all of the practice
questions! Grant teaches you what you really need to know, no extra
nonsense to contemplate. I now swear by it and will be spreading the
word.... Again, thank you very much for the A Grant!!

Hi! I attended your midterm seminar, and I just wanted to say thank you!
Before your seminar I was a bit confused about some of the concepts. After
everything made perfect sense and I got 100% on the midterm! Thanks again.

I was really having trouble with this course (Intro Calc 150). I was
barely passing going into the final and with the help of your great book
and tutoring session, I really aced the final. Thanks alot! I really
appreciate what you offer to math students.

Just wanted to say thanks for the Calc 136.150 book. I took distance
education 136.150 and the course manual they gave was terrible so bought
your book studied it two days straight went this mornings exam and
finished in no time. Your book is super easy to follow will definitely buy
the 136.170 book for next term. Once again, thanks!

Finally got my mark, B+ in calc. I went to about 3 lectures.. I went to
about 4 labs.. I only did 2 out of 5 of the lab quizzes (automatic -5% on
final grade).. I studied 2 days with grant's book. Your books are like
bibles! Next time I go to university, I'm going to pick up your Calculus 2
book... who knows when I'll go next though haha, damn I'm lazy.

Grant, I just wanted to let you know how much your amazing teaching skills
helped me. YOU ARE SERIOUSLY ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING TEACHERS I HAVE EVER
HAD! I studied your book for days and ended up getting an A on my midterm
keep doing your seminars and making your books because they truly are
incredible. The world needs more passionate teachers like you.
